My journey into tabletop gaming began the way many great stories do—around the kitchen table with friends, playing classic board games. What started as a simple pastime quickly grew into something more meaningful. Over the years, I found myself drawn deeper into the world of tabletop games—Warhammer 40,000, Magic: The Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons became cornerstones of my life. Today, I’m a Dungeon Master for multiple campaigns, a competitive Warhammer player, and an avid Magic collector. But gaming has become more than a hobby—it’s part of who I am.
In 2015, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served proudly with the 1st Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (1 PPCLI). Over my decade of service, I specialized in reconnaissance and participated in both domestic and international missions. It was during these high-stress operations that tabletop gaming took root as something more than a pastime—it became a refuge. In tents, barracks, and mess halls, I discovered how games could be powerful for building camaraderie, processing stress, and bringing people together.
Then, everything changed. I suffered a significant traumatic brain injury, which fundamentally altered the course of my life. Recovery was long, difficult, and ongoing. But throughout that process, tabletop gaming became a constant—a safe, structured, and joyful way to reconnect with others, stimulate my mind, and rebuild what had been shaken. It wasn’t just entertainment anymore—it was therapy, healing, and purpose.
That’s what inspired me to create HomeFront Gaming. This isn’t just a business—it’s a mission. I believe in the power of games to heal, connect, and uplift. HomeFront Gaming is built for everyone, but especially for those who carry unseen burdens: veterans, first responders, caregivers, and anyone navigating mental health challenges. We create welcoming spaces through curated events, immersive campaigns, and community gatherings where fun and friendship come first.
Gaming helped me find myself again. Now, I want to help others do the same—one dice roll, card flip, or epic quest at a time.
